Supersymmetry and a rationale for small CP violating phases

چکیده
We analyse the CP problem in the context of a supersymmetric extension of the standard model with universal strength of Yukawa couplings. A salient feature of these models is that the CP phases are constrained to be very small by the hierarchy of the quark masses, and the pattern of CKM mixing angles. This leads to a small amount of CP violation from the usual KM mechanism and a significant contribution from supersymmetry is required. Due to the large generation mixing in some of the supersymmetric interactions, the electric dipole moments impose severe constraints on the parameter space, forcing the trilinear couplings to be factorizable in matrix form. We find that the LL mass insertions give the dominant gluino contribution to saturate ε K. The chargino contributions to ε ′ /ε are significant and can accommodate the experimental results. In this framework, the standard model gives a negligible contribution to the CP asymmetry in B–meson decay, a J/ψKs. However, due to supersymmetric contributions to B d − ¯ B d mixing, the recent large value of a J/ψKs can be accommodated.

Small Flavor Conserving CP Violation in Superstring Models
It is well known that supersymmetric models allow new sources for CP violation that arise from soft supersymmetry breaking terms. If unsuppressed, these new CP-violating phases would give too large a neutron electric dipole moment. We discuss a mechanism for suppressing SUSY phases in stringinspired supergravity models in which supersymmetry is assumed to be broken by the auxiliary components o...

Possible CP violation in supersymmetric (SUSY) extensions of the Standard Model (SM) is discussed. The consequences of CP violating phases in the gaugino masses, trilinear soft supersymmetry-breaking terms and the µ parameter are explored. Utilizing the constraints on these parameters from electron and neutron electric dipole moments, possible CP violating effects in B-physics are shown. A set ...

We study CP-violating phenomena in the production, mixing and decay of a coupled system of CP-violating neutral Higgs bosons at γγ colliders, assuming a Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) Higgs sector in which CP violation is radiatively induced by phases in the soft supersymmetry-breaking gaugino masses and third-generation trilinear squark couplings. We discuss CP asymmetries in the...
متن کاملSmall SUSY phases in string-inspired supergravity
In supersymmetric models, there are new CP violating phases which, if unsuppressed, would give a too large neutron electric dipole moment. We examine the possibility of small SUSY phases in string-inspired supergravity models in which supersymmetry is broken by the auxiliary components of the dilaton and moduli superfields. It is found that the SUSY phases can be suppressed by a small factor go...
متن کاملFlavour-Conserving CP Phases in Supersymmetry and Implications for Exclusive B Decays
We study rare exclusive B decays based on the quark-level transition b → s(d) l+l−, where l = e or μ, in the context of supersymmetric theories with minimal flavour violation. We present analytic expressions for various mixing matrices in the presence of new CP-violating phases, and examine their impact on observables involving B and B̄ decays. An estimate is obtained for CPviolating asymmetries...
